KNO supports Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's statement on behalf of Kachin people

We, Kachin National Organization strongly welcome and support the Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's statement released by the UN Envoy Mr.Ibrahim Gambari. We believe that a recent statement made by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is her true intention to solve the political problems of Burma. The statement clearly expressed the concern of solidarity and unity with the ethnic nationalities.
We have no doubt that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's commitment toward peaceful national reconciliation through tripartite dialogue. However, we would like to urge the international communities especially China, India and ASEAN countries to put pressure to SPDC to speed up the dialogue process to avoid further devastation.
We, Kachin National Organisation will fully cooperate with all other democratic forces to reform genuine Union of Burma.
